Will we humans survive?

The survival of the Human race is in our hands. It does not look very good. There are so many factors one has to take into account, but most of these are being made or influenced by us. Our Planet is such a wonderful place, it is abundant in clean water, beautiful nature and it could provide for our everyday needs.

The problem is we always want more; we want the latest, the biggest, and the most expensive. The more we turn away from nature and consume man-made gadgets and man-made food, we are not really doing our best for the continuation of the human race.

The dangers of Pollution

Our environment is getting polluted and we as people are getting sicker. Because all these negative impacts are influencing humans in unusual ways. An important fact is being discussed lately. The drop in sperm quality could make humans extinct.

I remember when Elvis Presley came on the scene, tight jeans and an electric guitar. People were saying that it was not healthy. Well, the world population continued growing as we all know. This time it does seem a serious issue and is documented in a BBC news article written by Pallab Ghosh on July 25th, 2016.

The evaluation by researchers of some 200 studies rings an alarm bell. The sperm count of men in North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand seems to have halved in the last 40 years.
All this being due to our modern lifestyle, stress, man-made foods, toxins, and chemicals in the air and water, and radiation just to name som

. Men are becoming more like women, with too many female hormones everywhere. At this rate, the human race will become extinct.

The other culprit seems to be smoking, and obesity linked to a sedentary lifestyle. These 2 conditions are often combined and do not promote a healthy sex life and also influence fertility in a big way.

In Newsweek on the 25th of Jan. 2015, an article was published written by Douglas Main saying that BPA disrupts sperm development and therefore is linked to the decline in male fertility.

Plastic bottles may contain Bisphenol-A or similar estrogenic chemicals and our men are becoming feminized. BPA and those other estrogenic chemicals seem to damage stem cells. There also seems a possibility that these alterations in the stem cells will be passed down to future generations.

Plastic bottles

What normally happens in those cases from the side of the industry, makers of those plastic bottles deny any negative side effects of using their products. That is normal as they earn the money and you pay, apart from cash, with your health in the long run.

BPA is just one of those dangerous modern things. We are surrounded by unhealthy things which have an impact on our health and that of future generations.

An interesting book

The book by Sarah A. Vogel explores the roots of the contemporary debate over the safety of BPA and the concerns presented by its estrogen-like effects even at low doses. Anybody interested in maintaining their health should read this book.

.
Bpa and the Struggle to Define the Safety of Chemicals

.

The ban on BPA

As so much has been written on the negative effects of BPA in plastic bottles and the fact that it has been banned in various countries, manufacturers have started finding a substitute. One of the new substitutes is called BHPF = fluorene-9-bisphenol and is already widely used.

This new substance is also harmful to our health. As when BPA binds to the body’s estrogen receptors, BHPF just blocks their normal activity.

There you see, from one bad and unnatural thing on to the next. One should avoid using plastic as much as possible. Do not drink water from a plastic bottle, take a glass bottle. This also applies to baby bottles. Even low levels of these chemicals have a negative influence on fertility.

As the last tip. Avoid putting plastic containers in microwave ovens or dishwashers, the plastic will degrade under the heat and the fact that the micro-oven changes your food on a molecular level while in the meantime you are being radiated does not help your health either.

Conclusion

Modern times make it more difficult for men to stay healthy as a lot of man-made items are not good for your health, stay informed and thus keep the human race from becoming extinct.

It seems that especially men living in Western countries are most at risk. The following video is an eyeopener, do not miss it.

Thanks for sharing this very interesting article on your website Taetske. I have always been fascinated by what causes a civilisation to grow to its pinnacle and just vanish, and our human race is just following the same evolution. We came from nowhere, grew over the millennials and now it seems that we have nothing more to learn or construct, so we are starting to destroy our race.
It happened over and over, as we know now that many planets might have had some sort of life, perhaps millions of years ago and have just wiped out themselves. Are we following the same pattern? Well, in the main time, lets do the most of what we have left and try to keep it for as long as we can.
I wish you a very healthy lifestyle Taetske and I look forward to more of your great articles.

    Good afternoon John,

I am happy to hear you found my last post interesting. I am convinced that on the long run we will find proof of life on other planets. We are only standing at the very beginning of the exploring what is beyond our planet. For sure that immeasurable space out there with all the milky ways we have discovered up till now were not put up there for mere decoration. I do not think our human brain is capable to even understand a fraction of it all. When one looks at those amazing photos taken by Hubble etc. one realizes our insignificance. This coming Monday I will publish a new post. It will be on the Stones of Ica. Have you heard of that? You might like to visit again and read it.

I like your interesting perspectives on these topics. I agree that smoking and a sedentary lifestyle are really messing with people and the population. I don’t know how, this day in age, people don’t realize these massive issues. I stopped drinking water out of disposable every day bottles lately and really have saved a lot of money in that process as well!

    Good Morning Ben,
Thank you for reading this article on my website. Good to hear you have stopped drinking water from plastic bottles, your health will thank you. The more one investigates these type of issues the more nasty things come to light, it is more and more difficult to avoid all these harmful substances. The best one can do is to stay informed and also use one’s intelligence as often big company’s will not tell you the truth. On my website I have also written a post on plastic in our food, the whole thing is hairraising, let’s go back to nature.

Thank you for your interesting article.

It is clear that from generation to generation we have gradually caused harm to the world and now is definitely the time to start putting measures in place to improve and repair the environment. As you comment, replacing plastic bottles or cutting down on the use of plastic in general is a fantastic initiative not just for humans but for all wildlife though as you mention we need to ensure that we are not replacing them with something just as harmful as the knock on effects could be deadly.

    Good afternoon,

It is sad to observe the possible decline of the human race. Really, it is mainly our fault. If only we would realize this and take measures as it is not too late, but nearly.

You know I have strong feeling when it comes to this.

You are quite right, the planet is a beautiful and wonderful place, but in my opinion, the human race has been (and continues to be) the cause of its downfall!

The pollution we pump into the air every day (even subconsciously as we drive our cars) not to mention the factory output, the garbage and plastic in the seas, the cutting of forests, the digging of oil, the killing of animals. Pretty soon, there will be nothing left for us to destroy.

I think the human race is happy to see this happen, as little is being done to actually prevent it.

Oh yes, and once this is all achieved, this is not enough, the human race is looking to go to Mars. Let us see what is left of that planet too in thousands of years to come.

It is a strong opinion I know, but I think if the human race was never to have been, the earth would be in a lot better situation that it is today!

So, will we survive? NO. We will make sure of that all by ourselves.

Interesting information, you got me on my soapbox 🙂

Thanks

Chris

    Good afternoon Chris,

You know something? I could copy and paste your comment and use it as my reply. Personally, I do not give up hope yet but it certainly does not look good. I do not know if the Martians would be welcoming us, after all, we would be considered a hoard of invading emigrants.

In the movie The Matrix, Mr. Smith describes humans as being a virus.

Both my websites, motherearthstreasures, and healthyantiaging are sandboxes and with each post, they get bigger.

I will send you the link to another post where you will see a video which portrays how awful we humans actually are.

Hi Taetske,

This is a very interesting article, my website is focusing on the ways that men can increase testosterone production. This goes hand in hand with things like sperm count, chemicals like BPA & BPS in plastics, hormones found in foods and other endocrine disruptors in the products we use daily all contribute to this, it’s good to see other people focusing on this subject!

    Good afternoon Nate,

It certainly is not easy to remain healthy in these modern times. It seems that with each human invention some nasty strings are attached. The fact that men start developing breasts, awful. I can tell you from a woman’s point of view it is not nice, most women want real men. To think we are doing these stupid things to ourselves, not good!

Do send me a link to one of your posts, I am interested in reading it.

Hi Taetske, great article that you have produced here.I like how you have listed possible threat sources to the human race as pollution,BPA,sperm count drop etc.I believe all of this stuff to be true as i think we are surrounded by poisons on all sides in diet and rthe environment.I especially liked the link off to the site on the feminizing of men. Some of the facts in there even suprised me.Good work here Taetske, well done !!

Yes, that link is a frightening one and to think we are doing this to ourselves. The more “modern” our world is getting the more health hazards will pop up. For the so-called commodities, health risks are included. Not so easy to remain healthy these days. Personally, I like men to remain, real men, the ones that come from Mars.

Thank you for sharing this article with loads of information. I am really trying my best to stay away from things or foods that contain potentially harmful chemicals. Like you, I also believe that the continuation of the human race lies in our hands.

I am aware of the bad effects of BPA to health and I actually wrote an article about this. But it never occurred to me that water bottles made of plastic also contain BPA. I am so focused on drinking the daily recommended amount of water that I  totally forgot all about it. I find it easy to drink water from 330 ml plastic water bottles that’s why I order 3-4 boxes of bottled water every month.

It really is difficult to stay healthy these modern times.

All these types of issues worry me. On my other website healthy antiaging alternatives, I have written many posts related to all these modern things. From GMO, pesticides, plastic in your food, the health risk of sugar, and the list goes on.

As we have turned away from nature we certainly are paying a high price. These days we have some more health hazards in the form of different radiations, very worrying indeed.

Do send me the link to your post, I am interested in reading it.

This is a very good and informative article. I think all people should read your post because at this moment our planet is going through difficult times. As you said, pollution plays a very important role and that will lead to human extinction if no action is taken.

Unfortunately, as we can see, other sources such as these viruses appear because we have no treatment at the moment. Many people are infected, the death toll is increasing and panic is increasing. I would really like to hear your opinion about this Corona Virus and how much it can affect us?

I think it is quite amazing we are still alive taking into consideration all the unhealthy things we are doing. There you can see how amazing the human body is and how it adapts to abuse until the moment comes when it gives up.

Every year the “normal” flu takes so many lives but we are kind of used to it so it is not big news. The debate if a flu shot is really helpful is still ongoing. Every year it is a variation of the flu from the previous year so personally I do not take a flu shot,.The thing I do is keep my immune system strong. Lots of oranges from the farm, sit in the sun nearly every day and a supplement of vitamin D3. With the Coronavirus, I will take some extra care to avoid crowds but that is all.

Many thanks to you for sharing such an excellent article. I think it’s our responsibility to protect our health. Then I think it’s time for us to work to protect the environment as well. The negative side effects of plastic bottles cannot be ruled out . At present we are making money with these plastic bottles but in the future, we have to spend that money to protect our health.

BPA is one of the dangerous modern things we have created.  We are surrounded by unhealthy things that have a huge impact on our health and the health of future generations.  I must read the book mentioned in your article as it seems to be very informative.

Lastly, I hope that everyone will gain a lot of knowledge through your articles and will definitely share their new experiences with you.

    Good Morning Mobashera,

Nice to see you again. Thank you for your comment.

There are so many negative things that affect our health. It seems we cannot stop inventing more and more even if by now it is known to be dangerous. The money-earning aspect always seems to come first and our health comes last, it is a strange world we live in.

That is why we should be well informed about dangers like drinking from plastic bottles as the negative effects are accumulative.

Nice preview which is appreciatable. Our environment is suffering great losses. For human existence,  humans are the main threat. We are the big polluters. The smoke from factories and car emissions are some of the things that cause global warming. We pollute the soil by throwing plastics that end up in the oceans.

People should become aware of these problems They really should start thinking of how to help the environment and undertake the necessary steps. Doing that we will be healthier and the human race will survive.

For the human race to continue we really have to shape up our act. Too many negative things are happening which harm us and the environment. Everything is related and I do hope we will soon realize this.

There are a lot of factors that can end humanity, some which are in our hands to prevent, and others that we cannot control (i.e. a meteor)…It just makes sense to handle the ones we do have control over, although greed and power get in the way too often.

That is my personal frustration with people and Governments. Rather than look for solutions or ways of doing things that do not harm the world we live on, they only think about themselves. They do not care for others nor for future generations that must live with their decisions and assaults on the world.

I guess we can vote, we can protest, and finally, get involved in politics (or support people that have the same mindset and want to get involved) and not give up.

I know I will not! The many instances that you have mentioned in the article where we know the stuff people are using or consuming can be addressed. If enough of us are loud enough and take action, perhaps we can change things. I am an optimist and will not give up!

    Good afternoon Dave,

Nice, you decided to come and visit my website again. Your comment is appreciated.

Not everything is under our control but we should be a lot better informed and learn to control the things which we can. The blindly following without using our grey cells seems to be an illness of its own.

Having websites and being on social media can accentuate one’s frustration. All the information you are confronted with each day can get a bit much at times. My life was a lot “friendlier” before that.

That I write about negative things does not mean I am a pessimist. It is more like a possible shakeup to those who read my posts. Sowing little seeds in people’s mind that might germinate and provoke action, change, etc.

It is a shame I started doing this rather late in life but anyhow I try my best during the time that I have left.

    Regards, Taetske

What a great article. I am an Environmentalist myself, living a zero plastic and more conscious life is so important these days. I am glad I came around your article and its content is so important for people to read. I most certainly will share it and hope to spread the word of the dangers that are lying beneath the mindset of that Mother Earth will be around forever. She will, but I believe that the human race needs to take care of her because if we do not take action we will not.

There are so many easy steps we can take to make sure we help heal our planet. Start by using glass bottles instead of plastic, look for companies that are environmentally friendly and support those that are taking that extra step of reducing pollution.

    Good Morning Andrea,

Nice to hear you enjoyed my article. My life is not completely plastic free, but I am doing my best. The Aldi and Lidl supermarkets here in the village have now biodegradable plastic bags, so that is a good step in the right direction. Before that we would take our own bags with us and for fruit and vegetables use those cotton mesh bags.

We do a thorough separation of the garbage and the bio waste is collected and once a week put into the vegetable garden.

Have you heard of bUnited? it is a worldwide movement of consumers. It is free to join and we can do something positive for our environment. Please have a look at the green widget Save the Planet in the sidebar.
