Finding connections between Utah and Algeria
There are many mysteries in this world. Mother Earth often surprises us with unusual discoveries. Her Enigmas have always fascinated me and I would like to tell you about something which I discovered some years ago.
The more you think about it the more it makes you question have we been alone here? Have we been visited by unknown species? I personally think we have. Worldwide, there is a lot of proof that this has happened throughout the ages.
Rock drawings in America
I have a dear friend who lives in the US. His name is Sid. He tries to make 1 big trip a year to places he has not seen yet and, like that, has now visited nearly all the states in his country. Some years ago, he went to Utah and sent me photos of the places he had seen.
One of them was special. It showed ancient rock drawings which depicted different types of animals and also strange-looking beings. He said these Indian pictographs were thought to be some 9000 years old.
Interesting YouTube video on rock drawings in America.
Well-known writer and journalist J.J. Benitez
One of my favorite Spanish writers is a journalist, his name is J.J.Benitez. He has traveled all over the world now for already many years and has written over 50 books of which I have some 25. He has written a set of books called “Planeta Encantada” an enchanted planet which was edited by Planeta.
Comparing photos
On seeing this photo of my friend Sid, I immediately went to my bookshelves and picked up one of the books by Benitez. There is a place in the south/east of Algeria called Tassili N’Ajjer with similar drawings as in Utah. In Sefar, which is in that area, is a drawing of an unusual being quite a look-alike to the one in Utah.
There seem to be between 30,000 to 50,000 drawings from different times. In 1982, it was declared UNESCO World Heritage Site and since 1986 it is a biosphere reserve.
An impressive book for your collection
Visually, this is a wonderful book. The work of 25 years to connect all threads. 5000 years of Native American rock painting.

The Italian professor, Fabrizio Mori, one of the big experts on drawings in the Sahara, started his studies in 1955 and established the following chronology:
- Animals from the Savannah around 12,000 BC
- Paintings from the “Roundheads”, 8,000 BC
- Policromated paintings from cows and human figures Mediterranean style, 4,000 BC
- Carriages and horses 1,500 BC
Tassili N’Ajjer in Algeria
Translated into English, it means Plateau of the Rivers. This name refers to far-away times when the climate was a lot wetter than nowadays.
It is a huge area of 72,000 km2 ( 28.000 sq mi ) formed of heavily eroded sandstone. It is situated in the Sahara and this fast plateau encompasses southeastern Algeria, northern Niger, and also western Libya. Over time, this sandstone has eroded and one can find hundreds of rock arches, pillars, deep cliffs, and gorges.
Here you will find prehistoric rock art which was first reported in 1910.
Up till now, some 15,000 engravings have been identified. You will find large wild animals like crocodiles and antelopes and also human figures hunting or dancing. The mouflons still live there and are the only surviving type of big mammals that are depicted in the rock paintings. The oldest pieces are thought to be 12,000 years old, but the opinion of the experts differ on this.
This YouTube will take you on an interesting tour admiring the rock drawings in Algeria.

Messages from a faraway time
In a later post, I tell about a personal experience I had when visiting the U.S. in 2016. I went to Dinosaur National Monument and saw some ancient rock drawings there. Our world is full of intriguing things and one lifetime is far too short to see it all.
Many unusual things have happened throughout human history and are likely to continue. Looking at the rock drawings, you see the proof of this.
Conclusion
I love to travel and do hope I will be able to visit Algeria one day and see these stunning rock drawings with my own eyes. The mystery of these drawings and ancient drawings in other countries makes me wonder how much we do not know about our history.
I have made a special page for my visitor. I think you might find something of your interest. Do have a look at Recommendations.

Perhaps you like to read my post on the holiday in the U.S. where I saw rock drawings. There is of course a difference, seeing something on a video or standing in front of a rock looking at the drawings. It is quite an experience you will not forget.
Traveling is one of the best things you can do. Beautiful memories remain with you forever.

I love your articles. This one is full of facts and discoveries that I’ve not heard before.
I am especially interested in the Utah stone drawings. I’ve got to put that on my bucket list to go see. Fascinating.
I also am intrigued how you link similar drawings from different places in the world. Again, fascinating. Thanks for piquing my interest and your thorough research.

Good evening Mr. Tucker,
Thank you for visiting my website and reading this post. I can tell you when I discovered the fact that the drawings in Utah are “family” of the ones in Algeria I really got excited. I have always been interested in the enigmas of our world. One needs more than 1 life to discover it all. I envy Mr. Benitez for having been able to travel to all these exciting places. I have written an other post on the Stones of Ica because I read a book written by this journalist many years ago. I hope to see you again.

I absolutely love this article. History like this really intrigues me. I am always amazed at what the world was about hundreds and thousands of years ago.
I am bookmarking your site. The fact that I will likely never get to these spots is made easier knowing I can live some of this stuff through you.
Thank you for such great information

Good evening Dale,
Nice to see you again and hear you liked my post.
I also find it fascinating all these things from the past. I would love to make a trip to see the rock drawings in Algeria but one has to be careful to not go when there is political unrest.
I love the idea that we have been visited in the past, present and for sure in the future. Let’s face it, our Universe is so fast and we are the only ones occupying it on our little planet?

How fascinating that there is a huge treasure of these paintings from various places on the planet. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Hmmm Utah and cave paintings will be on my list of stops to take next summer to see it for myself.

Wow…. Amazing article! This makes me wonder on who live among us. Just by reading your article makes me want to travel around the States more. See I take it for granted since I live here, I have just never thought that the States is so big and there are so many things to be discovered.
For instance, my husband is a big believer of Sasquatch, and desperate on having me going on the trial to find one lol.
I will make this into my bucket list and visit it soon! Thank you for sharing!

Hello there Taetske,
Thanks for such intriguing and informative article, I’ve really enjoyed reading it and I also learned a lot of new things today. Prior to this article I didn’t know about Tasilli N’Ajjer in Algeria. After You article presented me with some very captivating and interesting facts, I gotta say- I was left very thrilled and impressed by this place. Right of the bat what stood out for me the most were those ancient drawings on the rocks and cliffs which represnted the tribe’s life, their daily activities, their religious believes as well as wild life, perhaps some kind of spiritual awakenings and more. It’s truly magnificent. I am also very fascinated by the fact, that this place formed due to heavily eroded sandstone and that it consists of very gorgeous cliffs, rock arches, pillars and more. It’s a stunning looking place. Keep up the great work Taetske

I love this! It amazes me that there are similar drawing from ancient time in places that are so far apart, it’s fascinating. These drawings show us ancient communication methods that are still relevant for us today.
It’s so true to say that some of these drawing look like they have originated from other worlds. I think that was part of the thought process that has motivated Benitez research too. I believe he had researched UFO phenomenon during his early career?
I’ll watch your site with interest!
Taetske
Good Morning Nick,
Many books of J.J. Benitez are on the subject of UFO,s. After many years some secret documents of the Spanish military were made public. I think I remember well reading in one of his books about an incident near Valencia where a UFO was sighted. It was huge and was calculated to be close to 1 km long. There are many sightings reported by Spanish pilots. One of his books, from 1975, talks about another human race, the Stones of Ica in Peru, that book is one of my favorites. Our world holds so many mysteries, for sure very exciting.

This is definitely intriguing and an interesting find. We always tend to push away the idea when ever the discussion of aliens or some other beings existing comes up. Personally I too don’t want to believe it because if they really do exist it is just scary to imagine. All we have are traces of other existence but have not been proven.
I would like to think that when the world was created only humans and everything in earth were made to exist.
Taetske
Good Morning Jay,
Thank you for leaving a comment on my website. I hope you downloaded your free PDF?
I think the Universe is so fast that to think we are the only ones is kind of a waste of space do you not think.?
On the other hand there might be scary species out there, who knows. I would not worry too much about it as we will not be able to do much anyhow if they decide to come for a visit.

Hi, Taetske it is a breath of fresh air to read your article. I too also believe that there are and have been other visitors to earth. Even to this day.
The evidence of this is all around us. There is a book called The Pearl of Great Price. Ancient writing that is related to Scriptures and The Book of Abraham.it is very complex to write it here. But the book is part of my scriptures studies.
I will give you a small insight. In part of this book talks about a Planet called Kolob which is close unto God meaning that they too have the word of God in a much higher state.
At some point in time, they will be known unto us and will be part of the great change that will come to earth. There have been many planets formed and other beings but this one in particular walk amongst us and we can’t see them because they are very much like us.
This is a vast subject and one that is very controversial but intriguing at the same time.
Taetske
Good afternoon Linda,
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. Nice to see you again.
I firmly believe that we are not the only ones. Look at that vast space and nobody there? Now that would be a waste. It is very possible they have mingled with humans, in the past, now, and will for sure in the future.
I had to look it up as I did not know this book The Pearl of Great Price, now I understand.
We definitely need a big change on a global level because what I see in our world has me worried. If it will happen and if it will be on time I do not know but I hope for the best. We need to be open for the possibility that we are not alone, personally, I think it is a lovely idea to think there are many more worlds similar to ours.

What a lovely article that certainly does start to ask questions about the enormity of the earth and its incredible beauty. I have always been in awe of our planet and some of your findings definitely give into even greater questions.
Two of my favourite subjects Archaeology and History makes this really interesting for me and I too now wish to go to Algeria amongst other places.
I think that since lockdown the thought of the enormity of this planet is so true and I do believe it is trying to tell us something.
Great article thank you
Taetske
Good Morning Imelda,
Thank you for your visit and for your comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF? Tulip widget.
I think Mother Earth is an extremely exciting and mysterious place. Most of her secrets are not known yet. The list of places I would love to visit is still very long and I am afraid I will not make it as I have just turned 70 in May.
At least books, the internet, and films can take me there if not in person. Luckily I am blessed with a vivid imagination so it is nearly as good as being there in physical form.
After this lockdown I have noticed that people appreciate the smaller things in life like going to the cafe to finally meet friends for a coffee. While we were not allowed to run around Mother Earth showed signs of recuperation but that positive effect did not last long.

Hello there thanks for this interesting review, I enjoyed reading it. There are many mysteries in our world that we probably do not know about. I must say I have never heard about anything like this before. From all these strange stuffs one may ask how they come into existence. Mother Nature is amazing and I hope to visit these special places myself one day.
Taetske
Good Morning Philip,
We actually know very little about our past but these rock drawings in different countries far apart from each other give us important information. To me it is clear evidence that we have been visited many times.
Thank you for your comment. I hope you downloaded your free PDF? Tulip widget.
